Logistics Window Giraffe: a nice name, but where did it come from?

The name of the Logistics Window Siren comes from a memory that is very dear to me. Who doesn’t know our favourite childhood encyclopaedia, The Window Rapids? This multi-age picture book, with colourful illustrations and friendly explanations, has helped many of us to learn about the big world through alphabetical vocabulary and useful illustrations.

I had a dictionary like that, and I used to read a lot with my grandparents. My beloved grandmother and I used to go through the meaning of each term together, so I soon had a broad picture of all the topics covering the ABCs. I wanted to pass this on, to apply it to the world of logistics and to make a lasting impression.

I’m happy to help all interested and professional motorcyclists, whether beginners or experienced old hands. With the Logistic Window Giraffe I would like to pay a little tribute to the memory of my grandmother, and to prove to her that all the fond memories of her still live on in me to this day.

In addition to this, I would like to guide you through the world of transport management and provide you with useful advice to support your professional knowledge and experience I believe it is very important to foster relationships within the industry, and to build a valuable network of contacts, so I try to help everyone within the industry to the best of my ability.

A few sentences about myself

I’d like to say a few words about who I really am, and how I got here, and how I became the head of a transport company. I knew all my life that I wanted to be an entrepreneur. While others were busy playing with their own little toys as children, I was already wondering how I would compare to the entrepreneurs close to me. I would like to mention a family friend, Tibor, who is like a godfather to me. Yes, I think he inspired me in the beginning, because he was a shipping agent, which I – as a child – particularly liked. I knew that when I grew up, I wanted to be part of something as good as this, and that I would have the boundless freedom that always motivated me to be an entrepreneur!

I was not always part owner of the Variola group. As a young man, I worked for a debt collection and management company, and in a few years I set up a similar mentality myself. As the world changed, however, the needs slowly shifted and we started to focus on transport, and then built up step by step. Finally, we are oriented towards the V4 and Europe in terms of transport.

Today, we are present and supply in all areas of the economy, handling everything from food to sanitation to furniture. My team is reliable and fast, which I am very proud of. We are constantly trying to tackle the challenges we face, adapt to the ever-changing modern world, while doing our best to add value and remain human at the core.

What useful information can we get with the Logistics Window Guide?

I have tried to put the material together in a way that highlights all the basic issues and illustrates each situation with different examples.

Allow me, dear reader, to use first names, because in logistics we always speak to each other in first person.

In the first part, we explain technical terms so you can learn about exports and imports, and for example the difference between a haulier and a freight forwarder. No, they are not the same thing, and it is very important to know which one has which position, which tasks it has, where its remit extends.

Find out how to organise your transport on time and what happens when a red-letter holiday comes into the picture.

Did you know that the transport of live animals is now included in the category of special goods? If you are interested in what are the normal goods and what are the goods that require special treatment, be sure to read the Logistics Window Guide to find out!

To ensure the accuracy of the transport, it is essential to have well-defined pick-up and drop-off points. Without it, you can quickly get lost, and if you’re not punctual, you can quickly hurt your ankle. The e-book gives you the answers on how to enter loading and unloading places correctly, where-what and how to indicate it. I’ll give you some tips on what to look out for and a concrete example of how to apply.

Read and browse through our logistics guide, as it’s in all our interests that you have useful information to support you in the diverse world of transport management.
